Using Generative AI Tools for Supporting Data Processing and Analysis

This intermediate-level workshop introduces practical solutions for using generative AI tools to support data processing and analysis tasks through interaction with large language models (LLMs) on the LTTC LLM Studio’s Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform. Participants with foundational knowledge in data analysis and AI acquired from our introductory-level workshop will gain hands-on experience utilizing generative AI in the data analysis process. Specifically, they will create a custom application on the MaaS platform, develop a specialized knowledge base tailored to their data analysis needs, and generate statistical data descriptions based on their data. We will also discuss strategies such as prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to improve the relevance and quality of AI-generated outputs. Additionally, participants will learn about the limitations of generative AI in data processing and analysis and how to critically assess the validity of AI-generated outputs.
